WHA Conference 2025 01:21

For the Water Dispenser & Hydration Association (WHA), Urban Beat Films delivered comprehensive conference and event video coverage, working closely with General Manager Phillipa to plan the filming in advance.

The project began with an online briefing via Microsoft Teams to discuss the running order of the day and identify the key moments that needed to be captured. Our production team arrived at the venue the day before the event to complete setup and carry out a full site survey, allowing time to identify the best camera positions and opportunities for capturing supporting B-roll footage.

In addition to filming the main conference and trade show activity, we were asked to record a series of stand-up interviews with delegates in a dedicated breakout room. For these interviews, we set up a professional filming environment using 4K cameras, three-point lighting, and clip-on lavalier microphones to capture clean, high-quality audio.

Following the event, all footage was taken back to our studio and edited into a polished conference and trade show video, complete with accompanying interviews. The finished content was optimised for use on the client’s website and across online and social media platforms.

Hybrid Event 2025 0:16

In October 2025, Urban Beat Films was commissioned to film and live stream the Spirit of Manchester Awards at the Sheridan Centre in Manchester. Working closely with the event organisers, Manchester Community Central, we carried out a site visit in advance to plan the technical and production requirements for the evening.

This preparation is vital when delivering a live hybrid event video, allowing us to identify and resolve any potential technical challenges ahead of time. By securing a stable, hard-wired internet connection, we were able to set up our multi-camera system and streaming controls well before the event began.

The awards also featured a live online voting system, enabling remote viewers to take part in the evening by casting votes for the community services they felt deserved recognition. The event ran smoothly throughout, and the client commented that it was the slickest production setup they had experienced in over ten years of running the awards.

Live Event Video 1:09

For the live music segment, we filmed the energetic and highly entertaining “Oh My God It’s The Church”, a spoof gospel band performing a full live set in front of an enthusiastic audience.

To capture the atmosphere of the performance, we used a combination of static cameras and a roving handheld camera. This allowed us to move through the crowd, film on stage with the band, and capture close-up moments at the front of the performance giving viewers a genuine sense of being part of the live show.

A stereo audio feed was provided directly from the venue’s sound desk and synchronised with the camera footage, delivering a full and immersive sound. Following the event, all footage was taken back to our studio for professional editing and colour grading, resulting in a polished final video ready for promotional use.
